The Why,Who and What

Heya guys!...

Did you guys just stumble upon the blog or maybe a friend suggested this, it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you are here and are welcome.

Every blog needs the why, who, and what. So let's answer these in this blog.

Why?

Have u ever got excited about getting to know a criminal case and gone wild trying to solve it? Have you binge watched Saavdhan India episodes(a true-crime tv show) and crime documentaries? Have you written down all the characters in the plot and tried to connect the dots? Then you are a certified crime enthusiast. So am I.

My love for true crime started as a kid when I wanted to be a lawyer, didn’t really think about it for a lot of years except watch a few documentaries and tv shows. Two years ago I stumbled upon a true-crime podcast(called ‘cold’ u guys should listen to it) and got hooked which reminded me of my first love. There were days when I spent the entire day listening to podcasts and doing research about it. I couldn’t go a single day without thinking about it. So after all these days of listening to true crime podcasts and going elbow deep into every case possible, I finally decided to open a blog.

Then it occurred to me if I could manage this all alone.

So I started frantically looking for a partner in crime(pun intended) et voila!’.There she was my true guardian angel, my roommate.

And thus this blog.

Who?

As mentioned above this blog is hosted by us two roommates. We are currently in our 3rd year of medical school, which as you know is a doozy. Us getting to who we are is nothing less than a crazy love story. (btw FYI we are not a couple).

We both were very shy, introverted girls with wild dreams and crazy fantasies lost in the world of the unknown. We never got to cross paths in our first year and in my 2nd year I was awaiting a roommate. Poof ! the next minute I see this girl in my room with cute short hair and with the brightest smile I had ever seen and we hit it off the same night. Who knew we had such similar crazy minds and passion for our lives and let me tell you it was nothing short of a miracle. She loves reading, like crazy reading, if not in college or studying, you can always see her with her kindle reading every single novel known to have existed in this world(a little exaggeration included). Her passion for reading and writing and my passion for true crime has got us here.

What?

So what is this true crime?

True crime is a nonfiction literary, podcast, and film genre in which the author examines an actual crime and details the actions of real people or rather in simpler words a genre which deals with these buzz words like murder, robbery, missing persons, suicide, homicide, larceny, court proceeding, police investigators, forensic examination, serial killers, psychopaths, sociopaths, fingerprinting, DNA profile, public prosecutors, lawyers, sentencing, cold case, etc.

The origin:

The literature of true crime dates all the way back to the Elizabethan era, but the genre didn’t enter the mainstream until the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. Primarily there were in the form of pamphlets, with a bit of fiction and unsavory details catering to the literates

With the establishment of police departments in the mid 18th century, ballistics, and fingerprinting in the 19th century, true crime got a boost.

We now have different forums to enjoy true crime and them being (few of my favorites are mentioned in the brackets)
  1. Books.
  2. Documentaries, tv shows, and movies(The Confession Tapes, Wild Wild Country, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, Unsolved mysteries, Forensic files.
  3. Podcasts (Serial, Cold,Crime Junkie, Morbid, LISK, Generation Why, The Dating Game Killer, Serial killers, Detective Trapp, The Man In The Window, My favorite murder, Casefile, Missing Alissa).
What to expect?

We will try to provide you with a thorough comprehensive online resource that dwells into the criminal actions, background information, the psychology about the cases and finally give our opinion and theories about the case.we will cover solved, unsolved, cold cases, historical cases, missing persons, witch trials, and anything interesting. You can expect to find a new blog every Wednesday.

This being a very controversial genre criticized for being insensitive to the victims and their families, we as true crime enthusiasts will try our best not to hurt the feelings of victims and their families but to provide real insight to the other enthusiasts like us, and shed light about the unfair, cruel people and things happening around us in this society and help find missing links for the ongoing active cases and other cold cases so that it would bring justice to the victims and their families.

Disclaimer: We are not promoting crime nor criminals. This blog doesn’t encourage people to involve in any sort of criminal or unlawful activities.

Stay tuned for the next blog!

Until then, stay snoopy and stay spooky.

Goodbye.....
